The holidays are upon us, and if you are like me there are more ideas for gifts, projects, and me-made clothing than I have hours in the day.  

Here at Sewing Studio we have launched December SHIRT Challenge for our followers.  The goal is for you to sew a button up shirt using your favorite pattern and fabric from Sewing Studio.  Email us a photo of your finished project,  post to FaceBook or Instagram.  We will select 3 random photos, and give all 3 a gift card to SewingStudio.com to help with the next project you have in mind.

Archer Button Up Pattern
This pattern has been around awhile, so this may be one you have in your stash as a TNT (Tried and True).  The second view is a bit more feminine.

McCalls M6613 Shop McCalls Pattern

This is a great men's fitting pattern with pocket, sleeve and cuff options.  There is a women's option as well.

 Jalie patterns come from Canada and are a wonderful   investment - most have 17 or more sizes.  This one   includes size 0 to size 22. 
 
These patterns are high quality and have great tutorials on-line, both photo and video. 

If you are a Podcast listener, make sure to check out "Love to Sew" podcasts.  These sewists are entertaining as well as informative.  The hosts are Helen Wilkinson, of Helen's Closet and Caroline Somos, of Blackbird Fabrics - both of them have a wealth of knowledge and ask some of the "tough" questions that we all really want to know.  Check out Episode 3 - How Big is your Stash?  They helped me understand it is really a "Fabric Collection".

You may recall my shout out to Seamworks Magazine in an earlier blog.   Well, they have done it again.  I just received this months edition an there are two exciting new patterns that are beautiful for all shapes and sizes.

I have a long list of holiday gifts to work on.   I will keep my lips sealed until after the giving season, then I share what is in my sewing room at this time!
